I think we have all suffered at some time or other with fungi infections on our nails. Other than recommended fungal nail creams from the chemist there is often stuff in our cupboards that are natural remedies for nail fungus. So what can we use? As fungi like to live in acidic environments we need something that is alkaline such as carb soda, a common ingredient in our kitchen cupboard. There are a number of species of Fungus and they love warm, moist conditions and can regularly found in areas of your body such as groin, under arm and in creases and folds of skin. You can also get it over you back and chest in circular light brown spots.
Nail fungi shows up as a discoloration of the surface of the nail and a crumbly mass under it. You can go to the doctor and get a script for fungal cream but many suitable ones are available without a script from the chemist.
So what are some natural remedies for nail fungus ? Firstly keep the area dry and clean and apply a suitable cream or treatment. As fungi are slow growers it takes time to kill it off. So keep treating for a while after it disappears to stop re-occurrence of the disease.
You can make a solution with carb soda and water and paint on nails and leave for as long as possible. Other popular methods are by using Vicks chest rub , organic coconut oil or tea tree oil.
